12 Questions You Might Ask If You Are In An Accident

How do I get started?
When you come to Placerville Body Shop to have your vehicle repaired, we will help you from beginning to end in the process of getting your vehicle repaired, regardless of whether it is an insurance claim or not. Our goal is to make the process of getting your vehicle repaired as easy and stress free as possible.

Should I call my insurance company first?
We are not a direct repair facility for any insurance company. We work for you the customer, not the insurance companies.

Will you help me file my claim?
If it is an insurance repair and you haven’t filed a claim yet, our office manager Joanne Sink will help you get started by calling your insurance company and getting you to the right person to file your claim. She will ask the pertinent questions regarding your deductible, whether you have rental car reimbursement on your policy, or if your deductible can be waived.

Do you charge for estimates?
Don Stupek or Mike Beals, the owners of Placerville Body Shop, will give you a free estimate of your damages. Depending on the repair, we may be able to give a discount on the price.

Do you rent cars?
We have rental cars available at a discounted price for our customers.

Do you tow vehicles?
After you file your claim, our office manager
Joanne Sink can help you get a tow truck scheduled.

How long will you have my car?
Because each situation is different, there is no standard time period necessary to make repairs. The length of time is dependent on the extent of the damage, availability of parts, and of course your insurance adjuster’s timeliness. However, we do everything we can to keep your repair time as short as possible.

What happens if there is additional damage after you start to work on my car?
Sometimes after a vehicle has been inspected, additional damage may be found. We will call the insurance company for a re-inspection to make sure your vehicle is repaired properly.

Do you have a warranty for your work?
We have a limited lifetime warranty on workmanship and paint for as long as you own the vehicle

What if my car is a total loss?
Occasionally, a vehicle is a total loss. This occurs when the cost to repair the vehicle is more than the vehicle is worth. We can help you get your affairs in order and figure out how much your vehicle is worth. We can also provide you with a free estimate of what it would cost to fix your total loss vehicle by buying it back from the insurance company.

Can you give me a ride home or pick me up to get my car?
We would be happy to take you home or pick you up, and we can also make arrangements to pick up and deliver vehicles.

Can I call you with other automotive issues?
If there is anything else we can do for you, like door or window problems, just stop by the shop and if we can’t do it, we’ll be sure to get you to the right person for the job.
